Welcome to Academic Practice Development
Academic Practice Development offers staff-facing professional development opportunities in learning, teaching and associated academic practices offered across UHI. This includes:
- An annual professional events programme linked to strategic priorities around learning and teaching that supports skills enhancement, sharing of practice and practice development.
- Professional recognition opportunities for colleagues to achieve sector standard accreditations including Advance HE Fellowships, Certified Membership of the Association for Learning Technology, as well as support to submit to National Teaching Excellence Awards.
- Leading and coordinating the UHI Mentoring Scheme to offer cross-partnership mentoring and peer-peer support in Learning and Teaching Enhancement, Scholarship Development, Research and Professional Recognition.
- Development opportunities to enhance and develop digital learning spaces, pedagogies, and learning resources, linked to and helping realise the university's ambitions around digitally enabled education.
- Guidance and support to develop and seek approval of new programmes of study, and to innovate in curriculum design and delivery.
- Funded opportunities to enable staff to engage in educational research, programmes of study including PhDs, and leadership development.
