Learning in practice

Practice learning is a key element of our undergraduate programmes and within many of our taught postgraduate programmes, it is therefore a fundamental part of learning.

We have developed, and maintain, a number of well-established practice experiences across NHS Highland, Western Isles and NHS Grampian health board areas within the undergraduate nursing curriculum. Optometry has the opportunity for placements across Scotland. Within the postgraduate portfolio there are practice learning experiences throughout the United Kingdom.  In addition to these practice experiences, we also work closely with local councils, the third sector and voluntary health and social care agencies (both private and independent), who support and provide essential practice experiences across our academic portfolio.
