Biography

Neurosciences has been a passion since 1997 and over 25 years of nursing has developed experience in acute, rehabilitation, management, specialist, and research nursing. Prior to working at UHI quality care management, education, and research creation at a national level for Motor Neurone Disease and Dementia was a central role and thus a continued interest in these areas remains. The role also led to development of patient and public involvement initiatives and promotion of the involvement of patients throughout their care journey, alongside creating National educational resources to support individuals managing their condition through evidence-based methods. This passion and experience in education led me to seek a role in teaching in a belief that this is a way to inspire and drive quality care provision and improvement for both students and qualified nursing staff.  Interests: lifestyle medicine, Neurosciences, Health care law and ethics, cold therapies, and Complementary/alternative therapies.
